You Will Stand Alone (the tower game)

You Will Stand Alone is a journaling microRPG about being a tower and standing tall as the world changes within and without you, until suddenly you collapse. It was written for the 24-Word RPG Jam and heavily inspired by the concept of Artefact by Jack Harrison. The drawn assets are my own, with a few fonts by S. John Ross (Hultog, Boulder Sober).

Though it was written for towers, you could play You Will Stand Alone as any sort of structure - change the first line, and discover the history of anything!

• 1d6 decades pass,

  • 2: Inhabitants fade,
  • 3: Nature encroaches,
  • 4: Dust settles,
  • 5: Cracks form,

I encourage players to record stories and details from their towers' histories in any form, whether that's illustration, writing, or something else. Or, you could just see how many decades you can last until you collapse.
